"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany..."
-Malenthos, Demonoligist from Tyranny server.
(Shamelessly stolen quote!)

It's a dangerous world out there on the ffa pvp servers and you have to be prepared to defend yourself, and sometimes the best defense is a good offense against those who may consider you a tasty target.

On the other hand ( )...

The world is filled with potential combatants ready to taste your steel in combat (Or just victims waiting to be slaughtered).

So I ask: How do you, fellow adventurers, determine who to attack in pvp? Do you act in preemptive self defense? Do you seek honorable combat among equals? Or, do you try to plant a knife into the back of the first sod who has the nerve of crossing your path?

As for myself, I keep only a few simple rules.
-If you are in a guild, and of similar level, I'll probably attack ya.
-If you hide, you die. (I take someone going stealth near me, a great offense

I'm not much into just killing people or RPing a 'psycho' who attacks whoever they see.

At lvl 25 I've been attacked 12 times and won 8 of 12, having always been attacked by people who were higher level.

Once I accidentally hit a priest in the Underhalls who came close while I was fighting a boss. I backed off and he started unloading holy spells on me. Open with shield sweep (which is fun to open with on gankers) and he got a serious beatdown. Saw him again, and bowed to him, and walked slowy by, and he tried again to pk me. And he got pwnt again.

The only times I lost were when I was lvl 10 on White Sands and got ganked by a lvl 20 who was there to grief and generally douche up OOC chat, and three times by a lvl 28 ranger (I was lvl 23) in Conall Valley who would attack only after I was in combat with mobs.

Edit: Oh yeah-- I lost a few more times now that I remember. Two or three times to a Conq/Necro pk team in Underhalls and once to a respawn camper in CV.

Still, never been beat in anything that resembled a fair fight, even with a four level difference.
