SoTBS is in the Wild Lands right near the maze. It starts looking awesome before you even walk into the door and only gets better from there. This is from my first run through there.

At first this was a whole new experience for me. I found that these mobs were quite a lot tougher than your run of the mill level 37-39's. By quite a lot I mean, don't even think about taking one on alone. My group consisted of (in order of importance....Just kidding!):

1. 39-40 DT
2. 42 Ranger
3. 43 Barbarian
4. 39 BS
5. 39 Necromancer
6. 34 PoM

We were all at or above max level recommended for this instance, except the PoM, and it didn't really matter, his heals still helped out quite a bit. Tanking multiple mobs was challenging, but doable. If I couldn't pick something up my party members, for the most part, could take quite a bit of damage before dying. I need to find a target of target option because it's kind of tough when you do have multiple mobs seeing if they are all attacking you.

The first boss we fought was the Blood Defiler. Nothing to tricky here he spawns minions at first I ignored them and stayed on the defiler. It's very important you aggro him first and everyone gives you the few seconds you need to do this. If a clothie gets aggro, you'll 5 man him. No biggie, but if someone is dead they don't get the XP from the kill. He dropped a dagger for us all three times.

We continued on to the Princess who wasn't very far ahead, we killed her minions, thinking they may aggro with her....and then we pummeled her to death and she didn't so much as scream. (She is bugged and doesn't attack) No loot from her.

Went a bit farther up some stairs, up some more stairs, killing legionares along the way. Finally the last boss, bad mofo looking guy! Killed him no problem, he does an AoE stun to melee that isn't a big deal as long as your above 25-30% health. Be sure to be the first one in on this one too, and remind your group it takes a few seconds for your beggining combos to go off...sometimes they forget. He dropped a very nice sword for us imo, and I rolled and got it the first time. He dropped the same sword the second and third time as well.

We couldn't find the chalice required to cleanse the alter the first time, but on the way out we found a place we missed. We reset the instance, came back in and found another boss. This guy spawned minions which I ignored and was another tank and spank. He dropped medium armor pants and helm the first time, and medium armor pants and a bow the second time, and medium armor pants and a shield the third time. Awesome shield btw, it has a proc that restores 15-17 (i think) life every second for (can't remember 15 i think) seconds.

All in all tanking in this game is challenging and fun. Don't feel bad if you are having trouble keeping aggro, everyone is trying to push their limits in game and it's going to be hard pulling stuff away from nukers and over healers. Not that they are doing anything wrong, it actually helps us test out limits as well. If you die, or wipe, so what, it's a learning experience and there will be a next time. Your going to get a ribbing from some people, the best thing to do is joke back and lighten up about things. Very few people actually get worked up about games unless someone else starts to, it's like a domino effect. Just keep it light, joke around a bit, and have fun.

It's a new game, we are all learning, and sooner or later we can all let our inner evil out and call people nubs for not knowing what SoTBS means. Until then, I am proud to help pave the way for future nubs!
