I just wanted to put out a warning to the community: Do not keep more than 15 gold in your wallet or you may get suspended or banned. This has happened to 4 people that I know, including myself.
Now, I know some of you are thinking, "15Gold?? heck I don't even have 1 Gold!"
However, as you level, the gold comes much faster. At level 75 I was making a few gold a night just doing quests and killing mobs. Each bag you open gives around 10 copper and each piece of loot sells for around 30 copper (not to mention chests). This adds up quickly.
At level 74 I needed around 2 million xp to get to 75. Mobs were giving around 2500 xp per kill, which is about 800 kills to level. If we say 20 copper per kill on average, that is over one and a half gold just going from level 74 to level 75.
On Tuesday I had 15 Gold in my wallet; 3 gold was mine and 12 gold was contributions from guild mates who were contributing to buy components for our guild city. However, in Tuesday's patch my wallet was wiped totally clean , with no explanation.
I shrugged it off and thought Funcom was doing what they needed to do to ban the exploiters. i was willing to sacrifice the gold and get back to playing if it meant getting rid of gold farmers. So I went back to leveling and making money. From Tuesday to Friday, just from harvesting and questing, I made 7 gold. This was mostly casual play, not grinding.
However, as of an hour ago, Friday night, I cannot login to my account. The only explanation I can think of (since Funcom is not communicating with me or anyone) is that my account has been suspended because I was considered to have an excessive amount of gold. How in the heck is having 15 gold an exploit when you can make a couple gold a level at 70+???
Just to be clear, this is not a "woe is me" post, but a legitimate warning to people to watch out how much gold they accumulate because Funcom is banning accounts with no warning. Not just me, but many others as well. Just look at all of the locked threads on the official forums.
If you think I am a hacker of exploiter, or gold farmer or whatever, just watch your wallet as you level up. You will see that I am correct. Funcom is way off base on what they think is excessive and you may be next. Just watch yourselves out there.
I truly hope to see some of you back in game. (and yes, you may have my stuff; IF you can login and get it! hehe).
