My main issues with AoC. Combat Speed, button-mashing.
AoC is a non-stop button-mash amidst fast-paced, hectic combat.

My group combat experience...
I thought I had read somewhere that this was not going to have as much button-mashing as other MMOs. It has more. You have you constantly click directional attacks with no cool-down time. The MMO I am most familiar with (EQ2) you could queue spells that would at least give you a few seconds to get your eyes off the spell bar and judge the situation and react accordingly. With AoC you have to constantly stare at the spell bar to switch directional attacks according to the opponent's defense. Sure, you can use hotkeys for attacks but that removes movement and dodging.

My group experience with AoC was not impressive. The combat reminded me that of Guild Wars; fast-paced, numerous mobs, and uncontrollable.
Tanks could not control mobs and classes has no interrelation. No one really benefited from one another. In EQ2, classes had buffs to apply to various members and a successful group required each of the four archetypes. In such a fast-paced environment it is useless to use any of the tactical implementations such as blocking and dodging. Perhaps those are only useful for PVP?

Nevertheless, I'll keep playing and hope it grows on me. The blood and boobs is enough novelty to last a few months. One more thing, whats with all the man-skirts?
