Can any 'magic' class solo?

I thought I would try either a priest or mage - but I solo most of the time.

Are there any builds that are survivable with Solo Play?

I won't need "group heal" And I am fine with half/half (melee/magic). I usually play a soldier type but some of the Magic looks interesting in this game.
