Talk to Si-Khu
When you return to your trainer, he/she will tell you to speak with Si-Khu. Depending on who your trainer is, you can choose to press them for more information and learn more about Strom and how he has perverted the once Red Brotherhood ruled by Valeria into the Red Hand after he exiled the former ruler. Many Resistance members are within Tortage aiming to overthrow Strom. The information you can get varies between the trainers.
Speak with Si-Khu and learn what you can about the incident in his village and ask about the scroll entrusted to him by his father. He can be found standing at the entrance inside the Thirsty Dog Inn.
Si-Khu will tell you of the fall of his village to the evil warlord Thoth-Amon. He believes Thoth-Amon was seeking a scroll his father had come into possession of. Si-Khu will explain to you about his father returning home one day baring a strange mark on his chest, and when Thoth-Amon attacked, his father joined with them, turning on his own family. During the fight, Si-Khu’s father was slain only to rise from death to rejoin the fight. The boy managed to barely escape with the scroll that Thoth-Amon sought and that his father entrusted to him. Convince Si-Khu to give you the scroll and then seek out Arias.
Talk to Arias outside the city
Once you have acquired the scroll from Si-Khu you will need to seek Arias to aid in its translation. The scroll will tell of how Thoth-Amon is using the Mark of Archerone to raise a slave army by allowing demons from hell to take over the flesh of the living beings whoe bare the mark. Arias can be found out the west gate of Tortage and down the southern path just pass the Temple of Mitra at coordinates 925, 585.
Talk to Slavemaster Shenti-Aku
With Arias's discover of the scrolls contents telling of magic that can summon minions from hell to take over the bodies of mortal men baring the Mark of Archerone discovered, he will enlist your aid in finding a way to counter such magic. He will send you to seek out a servant and slave-master of the dark sorcerer. You will need to seek out Slavemaster Shenti-Aku inside the volcano and find out what he knows.
The entrance to the volcano is located just southwest of the entrance to Mitrelle’s lair. You will find a door leading into the volcano at coordinates 832, 446.When you enter the volcano, keep strait along the path. When you reach the fork, continue strait. Once you fight through a load of enemies up the volcano, you will find Slavemaster Shenti-Aku in the upper levels at coordinates 642, 556. You will be assaulted when speaking with him so be prepared for an extra battle.

The slavemaster ever so arrogantly shares with you the plans of Thoth-Amon. You will learn that Mithrelle is raising an army using the Mark of Archerone for Thoth-Amon to use in his war. Smite the slave master for his arrogance if you wish, or don't. The choice is yours. You should return afterwards to Arias with what you have learned and get instructions on how to proceed.
Arias can still be found out at his camp just pass the Temple of Mitra at coordinates 937, 601.
Give the Letter to Captain Redrik
Arias believes that Thoth-Amon, Mitrelle, and Strom are using Tortage to hide their slaves before shipping them off to Stygia to become part of a slave army. Arias is also fearful that Strom may carry the Mark of Archerone making him one of the slaves. He will instruct you to deliver a letter to Captain Redrik in Tortage Harbor for King Conan. Redrik will be able to smuggle the message out and get it to King Conan past the barricade.
You can find Captain Redrik in Tortage Harbor at coordinates 1148, 791. Redrik will be very excited and consider it an honor to deliver a message to King Conan himself. He will soon set out to deliver the message.
If after completing this quest you have not gained your tenth level, you will be given the quest Gaining Strength I. All you need to do is get to level 10 and speak with your trainer. If you are already level 10, simply speak with your trainer to get the next quest series called The Awakening II.
The quickest way to gain level 10 is to return to Tortage day and do a few quests. You can talk to your trainer to switch between Tortage day and night.
