I Am Thinking about coming back to FF

Well i used to play a long time ago and was thinking about coming back to the game.

Is there a way to retreive an old account and character ? I never deleted him i just canceled my account ?

And is it really hard to find groups at lower levels ?

I have been a massive final fantasy fan for some years playing ff VII all the way up to x-2 but would like to know what do i need to play FF XI Online.

I am assuming you need to buy the game from the shop, but do you have pay a monthly subscription for playing online or pay any account setting up fees ?

I am in the uk and any links or help would be much appreciated.

Im sure you can get your account back just talk to a coustomer servive rep/GM. I think there is also a monthly fee for the game always good to check the website or on the box.
