This will decrease your ping rate on Windows boxes by a noticable amount. It gave me a 200% decrease.

1) Determine your IP (ipconfig or similar)
2) Run Regedit
3) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces
4) Determine which interface is for your IP. The correct interface will have a DhcpIPAddress set to your current IP.
5) Right-click on the interface and select New->DWORD
6) Set the name to TcpAckFrequency (case sensitive)
7) Set to a decimal value of "1"
8) Save
9) Restart your computer

This changes Windows to not wait for a reciept of packet acknowledgement before sending the next packet. Well it's more to it than that but that's the simplest way I can put it. Not only does this help WoW ping it helps many other programs with network/internet connectivity.

Enjoy!

well, I understood everything except the important part.

lets say my ip addy is 12.123.12.123
1. I go to run, type regedit. window pops up.
2. I find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces
3. [how do I determine which interface is is for my ...whatever?] Can you give examples, plz?

use ip addy 12.123.12.123 in example.
