View Full Version : Responding to 4dps as a warrior

As my 5v5 climbs higher (highest has been 2274, I believe), I'm noticing a large amount of 4dps teams, which tend to focus me (warrior) with heavy damage, forcing me to go into dstance and spell reflect, while trying to bash spells/keep ms up as much as I can. Such teams are the only ones we've really had trouble with--they zerg me down really fast and then mop up my team.

Essentially, I'm wondering what tactics other warriors have found effective against 4dps. I'd rather not stack SR, but if that's the only way to win (until they buff resilience against DoTs), I'll do it.

Also, in broader terms, what strategy do you typically employ against these teams? Play defensively and hold on for dear life until they're done with their burst? Or do you try to kill one of them quickly, controlling their healer?

Thanks,
nubb

There's two ways of doing it. One is to zerg one of them down ASAP while controlling their sole healer. This will usually result in your death and the loss of the game. The other is to CC their DPS as much as possible. Go man-to-man if necessary, but control their DPS flow. Your best bet is to have your Paladin shield as soon as possible, and once you're safely receiving mass heals, you can just try to land a kill. When his bubble wears off though, it's time to play defensively. Anyone who can CC should be CCing their DPS hard. The idea is to throttle their DPS and force them into a long game they can't win. Try to split your DPS into favourable matchups, that allows you to use your damage as a form of CC.
