last night on the exodar server my party hit the jackpot. first run we went through scholo and 3 boe blues and 10 boe greens dropped and one boe epic pattern for 300 tailoring. after that run we decided to hit ramparts. in the first boss hallway, another 2 boe blues dropped and 5 boe greens and 3 rare gems. a good run got better when we got to the next boss when one of his gaurds dropped a boe blue mace. that ramparts run had alot of the rare boss drops, including the 1h sword on the first boss, the blood stained gauntlets on the second boss and the hellreaver plus Mok'Nathal Clan Ring.
all this dropped in a 2 hour period, we were basicaly the only people running scholo and ramparts at that time frame, so i was wondering do they release world drops in waves?

If you don't believe there is a matrix for the random generated loot codes, then I'd give you this advice:

Watch the AH. You will notice certain 'rare' or even 'epic' items will drop in small qantities within a short window of time, say, 8 hours. Why the AH? Because everyone eagerly lists these drops in hopes of profits (most of the time).

Eye of Flame is one example

Lei of Lillies for another example

Rare Recipes too.

From my observation (which is by no means evidence, simple speculation at best) is that these world rares will drop like kind within a short span of maybe a couple hours.

Think of this sine wave, except with girth. Perhaps moving within a random scatter or shifting grid, each section of the grid containing a certain loot table. (Possibly independant equations for each zone?) When the wave moves into each range of loot, the loot can drop (apply % variable). The grids where the wave is not in contact, the loot doesn't (or can't). My theory is this is why you see several of the same 'rare' drop in succession, sometimes you get all of them, sometimes it's spread around the server in the case of world rares.

I have absolutely no proof for this nor do I pretend to have priveleged information on any of the official magicka. I just like to pretend I'm smart, and as we know, even stupid people are capable of great things in mass numbers. Anyone else care to join me in rocket surgery?
