Well i can predict how much harassment and unwanted attention I will recieve once the built in WoW voice chat goes live - i know there are features to ignore people etc, but people are already expecting me to get on wow voice chat, or else i cant raid/pvp

i thought of trying to disguise my voice as a guy so i wont get harassed 24/7 but my voice is just way too high - maybe ill pretend to be a really young male or something so they will leave me alone..

anyway, the people that i KNOW will harass me is not strangers but my own guild/ friends from WoW, so i cant really put them on the ignore list

The only option is not to go on voice chat at all i suppose, but i really DO want to be able to communicate faster than typing (especially in pvp where reaction time is very important) however i know after the match i will just get a ton of whispers asking me "ASL" etc

sigh

That is when you should make a macro that says something like:

"47 F Antarctica" "3 teeth, missing my left leg, 487lbs, dreads, one boob, and a bone through my nose"

I'll bet not many people will ask again. . .

You don't have to use it to talk, and if anyone forces you to do more than just listen to the conversation you're probably better off without the group anyway.

Use voice changers. Theres some hardware ones availlable for this, some of them must be possible to use on a mic jack.
But i suppose your could also find some software that will do it for you.

Prett simple really... check your guild charter. As Guild leader i've made sure that harrasment wether verbal or written is unacceptable and a bannable offence. So I should think that your guild should have protection in place. If not, try to bring attention to the fact. I have loads of female players, several are High ranking guild officials, so not protecting them would be guild suicide for me :P (They know where i live lol) If nothing happens, just wait till the patch comes out to see what happens. (Im assuming you have no teamspeak server). If all else fail, either find a guild that does respect your gender or create one of your own. You will be able to set your own policies or kick offenders as much as you like. Advertise your guild as equal oppertunity and your have 200+ members in no time.

Nobody is forcing you to use voice chat. Enough said.
