So I was in a Shadow Labs group recently, was shadow spec at the time, had another Priest healing, and her husband was a Hunter in our group. So being a Priest who has done a fair share of 5-man healing, I wanted to see her stats and spec, so I armoried her.

I immediately noticed her healing was around like 700, poor gear choices, several damage items slotted with healing gems for example. Mana regen was around 75 or 80 while casting... actually I just remembered her name and armoried her again, Shattrath Wraps, Shattrath Jumpers, and Saga of Terokk in healing set ( it was worse at the time, she's made a couple upgrades ).

And I looked at her talent build, noticed that in a 21/40 build, she's skipped such important and valuable talents as Inner Focus, Mental Agility, has DS but not Imp. DS, skipped Inspiration and Spirit of Redemption, in favor of other less useful talents. Wand Spec rather than Unbreakable Will for example.

~At this point some of you will feel tempted to armory me and will say "OMG Lolwell and Holy Nova L2play Nub"... ok so I'll get that out of the way for you. Reason? I probably won't be heal-specced for long and I've never used lightwell and wanted to try it out... my discovery? Not worth the talent point.

Anyway, so first boss, the one that most people will tank in the back hallway by the quest guy... yea our Priest was so busy lolligaggin and not paying attention that she ends up pulling the boss, despite groupmates saying "get back get back!"

So she's half dead to start out the fight.

Then by the time the boss is half dead she runs OOM. So I drop Shadowform and heal. Manage to get the boss down to 15 or 20% when I was feared through a wall. Yes you heard me right, feared through a wall.

Anyway, so tank starts freaking out "HEAL HEAL!" and I'm like "Sorry, I appear to have fallen through terrain or something" so I had to leave group to auto-hearth to shat. Got back to Shadow Labs and I mentioned to our Priest, "If you don't think you can handle healing this then I'll step in and heal it, I've healed shadow labs several times shadow spec without any problem".

So of course she takes offense when none was intended "I can heal just fine thank you"
So I mention "well you just seemed to run out of mana really early on in that fight, so I'm just saying I can do it without running out of mana if you don't think you can"

So her husband steps in "Hey man you better watch it! She heals Kara all the time and is a plenty good healer.

So at this point I just couldn't resist. So I said "That's interesting because she has no kara loot and is just barely friendly with the Violet Eye... which means what? Maybe one Kara run at best?"

I didn't even mention her talent spec was garbage for raiding.

Anyway, of course Hunter and Priest both left group and had to be replaced.

Question is, did I go too far? Is this type of use of the Wow Armory exploitation of the resource?

Thanks in advance.

Hmmm.... while it may have been a bit mean to make fun of her loot and kara rep, it wasn't right for her to take offense THAT easily.

Likely if you hadn't have said anything, the Tank or.... other, would have said something later in the run (on another wipe perhaps?) and drove them away.

You merely quickened what was eventually coming.

You were nicer than I would have been.

"I can heal just fine"
"Then why the hell am I having to heal?"

Case closed.

SL can be tough if you have a noob healer in the group. (which she clearly was) But she shouldnt have taken offence. Nothin was said that wasnt the truth.
