Should I Get an Epic Flying Mount?

I have always been a bit hesitant getting the various mounts and of course always appreciated the mount after I purchased it. Now though, I am looking at getting the epic flying mount and I really do wonder if it is worth it. First off, I am very pleased with my normal flying mount. It really is quite a fun experience and makes travel much easier then the ground mounts. The epic flying mount though, I have to wonder about. I really have trouble seeing its appeal. Sure it's faster but really there are so many flight paths in Outlands that speed is really not an issue (and I do see myself using fp's still since you can take one and walk away - get a drink...). In a particular region that epic flying mount is definitely faster but how much time are your really saving? A minute maybe two minutes?

So my question is, is it really worth it. I must admit though, if I don't purchase the epic flying mount I have no idea what I would spend gold on but I really don't think that particular reasoning justifies purchasing this mount.

believe me , maybe you will spend 4000 g on the epic flying . but you will get it all back .. just the Netherwing quest chain (only for epic flyers) gets you Tons of gold with daily quests.. each one gives you 12 g, you can do about 10 per day..

Btw you can farm much faster for primals , and mining ..

And one of the most good reasons is that you fly FASTER !! 280 ... come on .. thats already worthed..

if you have the money , and your not doing anything with it ..believe me , its worthed.

If you have gathering Profs, it may pay for itself.

One of my friends just bought one on his Miner, and he made 2k in the weekend after he got it just because he could get from node to node that much faster.

But yes, it is a money sink, and well worth it I reckon, but then again I have about 800G on all my characters put together...

Getting the epic flying mount has as much point to it as getting the land-based epic mount.

It's fun to skim around just above the ground at very high speed.

When you actually are in a hurry, it is faster than using the flightpaths (as you mentioned, I still use flightpaths sometimes because I can afk).

But, with the exception of some grindy quests from the Netherwing, it doesn't actually let you do anything that you couldn't do before.

The Epic Flying Mount is effectively a money sink. Something with use and prestige, but ultimately something to spend that hard-earned gold on when you don't have much left to buy. Your argument as to why it might not be worth it is a good one, but you have to ask yourself what you will do with the money if you don't get it. If you have already maxed all your professions and bought any gear from the AH you are likely to want, and you still have some spare gold lying around, then you may as well go ahead and pimp your ride.

IMO I would save the gold for the new expansion that will be coming out. . . you might need that gold to get from 70-80 . . . you never know. . . I don't think the Epic Flying mount is worth it. . like you said it only saves you at most two minutes, and you can't go afk. . well you can if you auto-run. . . but that's another story in itself. . .

Save the money. . !!
