I would really like to know why raiding costs me 10x more gold and 10x more time JUST TO GET READY FOR A RAID when the rewards are equal in strength.
"PvE (Raiding)
Requires farming of consumables: flasks, potions, weapon enchants (oil, stones)
Requires repair bills: whether or not you wipe a lot it could be from 5g-60g a night
Requires farming outside of raids to obtain resist sets and keys
Usually requires 4-5 nights a week, all consumables need to last for usually 4 hours a night
PvP
Show up every day for 2 hours and pay repair bills based on damage received
What's not to get? You often have to farm your dailies for 2 hours a night or more depending on your class for PvE to be able to afford, and PvP you can just do one set of dailies a week and be fine. The excuse that once on farm you start gaining money is invalid: the money gained only tends to relieve you of having to farm until your guild starts learning new content. PvP'ers get enough money due to not having to spend any on their gear progression that they can spend it in places PvE'rs can't, like alts."
The above is a quote from Mystiq a player.
I do not have much of a problem with raiding. I have a problem with having to farm, just to raid. Raiding is the funnest thing for me to do in WoW. Farming being a core part of raiding is a bad design(Good if they're just after money I guess >_>). I would rather raids be 2 hours longer and require no farming than having to kill the same mob for 2 hours simply to get ready for a raid.
PvPers do not have to deal with that. They just log on, talk to a goblin and they're right in the action. This is what I want as a raider. I want to log on, join the raid and get to the instance and start raiding. Currently though, we do not have that. It really sucks when I farm for a raid almost as long as I raid!
Please address this issue.
