Well, from what BLZ says: People just tend to pluralize it because there are different areas that comprise Outland, but it is a singular term to describe the whole region formerly known as Draenor.

I wonder if this was discussed when Kalimdor was put in the game.
I've been calling it "Outland", because unlike Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, Azeroth is the world.

Outland, is the continent, and the world. You could call it "Planet Outland", since it's not on Earth.
Though it should be nicknamed "Death", since Hellfire Peninsula and Nagrand look like something you would see as Heaven and Hell.

It's just Outland. It's not plural because 'land' can be many places. It would be more fitting if Outland was not under the control of one person or governing body, but you're just referencing one area, so making it plural is incorrect.
