recently my account was closed which didn't surprise me but is there anyway i can convince blizzard to let me have my account back?

WELL, you need to reply the account closure mail and ask why they banned your account without any clear reason and cause! Please don't mention anything about power-leveling or WoW gold service and insist on you were the only one who accessed to your own account and no one knew your account info!!!!!
see how they react and take further actions accordingly.
Does anyone know the average time blizzard takes to respond to emails? because its been about 5 days now since i sent them an email asking for my account back.

Blizzard wont respond if you reply the mail saying your account was closed. You have to use the Web form. they will reply within a day if you use that.

Step1: You may receive an account closure letter from Blizzard which is usuallly signed under the name of "Account Administration" but not a specific person name.
Step2: You need to reply this mail and ask why they banned your account without any clear reason and cause. Please don't mention anything about power-leveling or WoW gold service and insist on you were the only one who accessed to your own account and no one knew your account info. We need to know why your account was banned in order to better address this issue. Most of the time Blizzard acts unfairly, irresponsibly and we should not let Blizzard go with vague answers. If you find that the letter you received from Blizzard is signed under the name of a person before the usual Account Administration signature, that will be a good news and it means Blizzard has paid great attention to your case and what you need to do is to further contact Blizzard.
Step3: Email and fax the following info to Blizzard to ask about your account info. Tell them this account closure is rather irresponsible and you need a clear explanation from them.
Authentication Key: located in your World of Warcraft box.
Account Name: the account name that you are using (do not send your password)
Name: the full name that the account was created with.
Address: current postal address
Zip/Postal Code: current zip/postal code
Your Secret Question and Answer
You can also tell them sth about your game experience, such as something about your friends in WoW, your guild. :)
Step4: ^0^ Get your account back. It may take a few days to have your account back. :D

got my account back i asked blizzard why they had banned my account and the following day i had it back with no reply lol

Does anyone have a fax or telephone number for Blizzard in EU? My account was closed by them as well (I purchased Gold from IGE & Wowmine occasionally so am not sure if thats the reason).
Cheers for the info if anyone has it (I was not able to find anything on the web besides email addresses, and they never responded to my mails).

just send a mail through their online email support system, that's a good way to get ur account back. :)

Got my account banned a few days ago too. So far I emailed them 2 times and then filed one of those internet email things on their admin site. That was 2 days ago and havnt heard from them (nor can i log in) yet. Anything else I'm missing?

Heh, I think account admin is extremely busy or something. I sent in an email about an account they closed to help me 'regain sole secure access'. That was 2 weeks ago. Still no response yet so, not sure...

They havent confirmed this as of yet, but blizz has suspended thousands of accounts in recent weeks, most of them due to glider bots and powerlevellng. This also means that several thousands of members will be asking why they got banned and demand their account back. This may cause a slight delay in your info process. :p

Yeah, I sent in an email using the exact same email address i got the banned email from them, and i get an email back saying its not the account's email address, so i was like "Whadafu".
