With the recent patch "Before the Storm", the honor system got revamped. Changes include:
- no more Honor Rankings (Centurion, Marshall, etc.). But you get to use the highest rank you got previously as a title.
- no more Dishonorable Kills. And thus, previously gotten DKs are wiped.
- Honor points acquired are reduced dramatically. Around 10 or so honor per Honorable Kill, and less than 50 bonus honor per event in the battlegrounds.
- Honor points are now used as currency, together with battleground marks of honor, to buy various PvP stuff in the PvP halls in either city or at each battleground supply NPC located outside each battleground instance.
- Honor points are capped to double the highest costing gear from the seller NPCs (currently 50000). And these points do not decay anymore. They stay until you spend them.
- Battleground marks of honor stack number is increased to 100.
- No more reputation level needed to buy stuff from the different battlegrounds. Instead, its just honor points and various number of marks of honor, depending on which battleground stuff you are getting.
With these changes, spending a few days or so in the battlegrounds will easily get you those shiny Warlord/Field Marshall epic armors, or those powerful High Warlord/Grand Marshall weapons that you couldn't get previously.
