Ok... I understand straight up the complaint that casuals have regarding getting good gear. I really do.
But casuals have to also understand that if someone puts in 5x the time per week, they should also be rewarded equally.
I agree with both sides here. I was a hardcore raider until a few months ago and understand the effort required in a hardcore raiding guild to overcome very hard encounters to get the gear you want. After 50+ wipes learning an encounter and rediculas amounts of gold of reagents and repairs, you finally drop the dam mob at 1am, dam right you deserve better items than any casual can get. As the saying goes, you get out what you put in.
I see a lot of casual people say that when you’re in a raiding guild the epics drop for you like candy. Sure a lot of epics drop, but there are literally sometimes 3-4 weeks between getting an item in a large guild. Firstly you have to get the sometimes stupidly rare 3% drop rate items to drop and then you’re competing with 2-10 people for that item.
That’s a lot of hours for ONE item.
Now previous to the PVP change, it was near impossible for casual players to gain competitive Epic items. Now you can save your honour and buy what ever you want! I have done a few pvp hours here and there and have 8k honour. It was simply easy to get. I know some people that have PVP for say 2-3 hours a night since last patch and they had enough for High Warlord Weapons for god sake. It’s that easy!
Now Blizzard has seen how easy it is and decided to reduce the amount of honour you receive by 30%.
BIG DEAL
That simply means as a casual player you can get an EPIC item every 3 weeks instead of 2 weeks. WHAT A SUPRISE! That’s close to the same gain rate as a player in a raiding guild.
So now CASUAL players can gain epic items at worse 1/2 the rate (EVEN WITH THE HONOUR REDUCTION) that a hardcore raiding player get with the hardcore player still having to put in 30+ hours a week
I get that casual players feel left out some times, I’ve felt that way myself sometimes. But in this instance it’s simply not the case. Casual players (Myself Included) have got easy mode epics now.
Enjoy it.
