BRD Guide

I am writing this from a request for more 5 man zones, and as seeing as I find this as one of the best level 55-60 zones (nothing against Stratholme or Scholomance), I’ll start here.

Group Lineup
Warrior/Paladin – 1
Healer (Druid/Shaman/Priest) – 1
DPS (Hunter/Rogue) – 1
Warlock – 1
Mage – 1

Ok, so you can really have any group, obviously a tank and a healer. The reason I strongly recommend a warlock and a mage are for two parts of BRD, the Destroyer Bridge and the Lycium.

This guide is going to go through BRD with the assumption that you have the Key to Ironforge. If you do not, you have to run a quick quest in BRD (which is found in Blackrock Mountain when you are a GHOST – in the middle of the zone). It isn’t hard, and just requires you to go through a small portion.

Start

You will zone in from Blackrock Mountain, and there will be paths to the front and the left. Take the left, and use your key to unlock the door (a rogue can also pick this lock). You will continue on and to the right just after the door there is another door, you will want to unlock that. You may have to fight an elemental, but it may be patrolling further away. One again, follow the path a little upwards, and to the right is a third door – unlock that.

You will enter a room with plenty of mobs in spawns, as well as a few patrols. Have your group kill the first spawn that is right next to the ramp on your right. You will need to go behind them, but not yet. Once they are finished, go up the ramp, and kill the patrol – and elemental. You want whoever has a key (rogue preferred) to jump off the landing of the ramp on next to the giant contraption that has an executable on it. This will unlock a door you need later. He can run back easily where the spawns you killed where.

You want to continue on up the ramp and to the left, you can kill all of the spawns there. If you are all 60 and doing a equipment run, you can kill certain mobs and sneak by, but they are really not that hard, and you can get some random loot from them.

Keep going to the left, and you will go across a sort of bridge – but don’t advanced too fast; you will encounter a group of four mobs, dragoons and marshals, and there is a destroyer patrolling. You want to wait for the patrol to aggro you – don’t stand too close to those four sitting mobs. Once they are taken care of, have your mage and rogue polymorph and sap two of the mobs (preferably marshals) and then attack the other two, and then dispose of the rest. You will go up, and have your warlock banish the destroyer in the next mob, and then kill the other two first.

You will continue on to a bigger room. If you are all level 60, run diagonally (northwest I believe) to the ramp you can see; you can avoid all of the mobs there. If you aren’t 60, have your warlock banish pull the destroyers to the north, and then kill that group.

Once that is finished and you are on the ramp going down, have a warlock banish pull the two elementals, and then kill them.

General Angerforge

This first boss is easy, he has four mobs with him. Have the warrior charge, and then have the mage or warlock AOE the mobs. You will want to continue attacking him as normal, he isn’t hard. At ~15% he will summon about 10 mobs to come to his aid that will run from the ramp, 3 elite healers and the rest non-elite. Keep the mage healed and the warlock too, and have them AOE these mobs; by that time Angerforge should be dead and then everybody can focus on the elites.

Once he is down, head back up and go straight across. If you didn’t clear the group of mobs since you are all level 60, stay to the right side. You will go down a small ramp with a room full of gnomes and golems. You want this whole room cleared, or at least all of the golems, but all groups except one have golems. Once you are done, head straight up from the ramp and you will see a room with the Golemlord and two golems.

Golemlord Argelmach

This battle isn’t hard, just requires assisting to be flawless. You do not want to attack the Golemlord at all until the two golems are dead. Kill the red golem first, all on it, then next the blue. Argelmach will not attack anybody if you are just focusing on the golems, he will run outside the room and do nothing. Once the two golems are dead, just keep heals on the warrior, as Argelmach has a lightning shield and hits pretty hard for the zone.

You will want to continue on to the right of his room, which has a bridge with 6 destroyers here. This is the part where a warlock is almost necessary unless your warrior has a ton of fire resist. Basically you want the warlock to banish the highest level one and then run behind a wall and then have the warrior get aggro on the other two. Greater fire protection potions can help if you need it, but two can be handled by a good group. Just all focus on one, and you should be ok. Repeat for the next group and head into the bar.

In the bar – DO NOT ATTACK THE PATRONS, this will aggro the whole bar and you will wipe. It isn’t fun

Optional bosses

Ribley

This is easy, just stand at the entrance of the bar, shield the warrior, and have him talk to ribley, aggro him, and pull him back. He will have 4 mobs on him, so have a mage polymorph one and then have heals ready, but this isn’t that hard of a boss.

Hurley Blackbreath

All you have to do for Hurley is go into the left room of the bar, and have people attack the kegs. He will run in, and you can kill him. Just keep aggro on the war and keep him healed, nothing very special for this boss.

If you decide to do those two, head up to the upper level of the bar upon completion. Have everybody stand by the big golem on the right side, and have one person (not the tank) go to the vendor and buy some beer. Give that beer to Rocknot, a dwarf NPC. This will trigger an event that has the golem aggro, and then you can kill him. This will open a door in the back right next to him, where you can advance.

You will be on some stairs, with a few groups of mobs at the bottom. You will want to have the warrior focus on the one or two elites while the AOEers attack the other ones. You can banish the destroyers if they are present, but if not, just have the tank attack them.

Clear the mobs in that room so you can access the door on the left side. Go down until you are at the opening to a bigger room.

Ambassador Flamelash

This next boss isn’t hard with or without a mage.

Just have EVERYBODY charge at the SAME TIME to the boss. You will just want to focus your attacks on him the whole time, but if there is a mage, have him AOE the adds when they appear. They aren’t strong at all, so if you can’t AOE them (they are fire based so warlocks cannot do it), it isn’t hard, just keep them off your healer for interruption purposes. Just attack the boss and kill as fast as possible.

Once he is done, follow the path that is to the left of the boss, and go through to the next big room. You can follow the right side and skip the first spawn on the top. Pull all of the mobs on the right side of the bottom, kill the casters first or polymorph them.

You will all make your way into a room with coffins, and a ghost up at the front. Make sure everybody is inside, and then talk to him to trigger the next battle.

In this boss battle, seven ghosts come to attack you. They come one at a time, but if you take to long to kill there could be two present. No special tactics are required, just damage them. The last one spawns three voidwalkers, but they aren’t really tough, so just banish to AOE.

Loot the chest that spawns, then head on down the ramp to the Lycium.

This room is full of dwarves, and they will be pulled in mass amounts. This is where a mage is very helpful, almost required, and can just instant cast arcane explosion on the pulls, or frost nova/cone of cold. Anyways, you have to find the torch bearer, who is usually patrolling in the middle of groups. You can find him as he is holding a flame. Pull that group, and AOE them massively. You want to get that and run back to start, and get full mana. Head to the right, pulling 2-3 groups at a time, and keep going to the right until you see the torch. Have the torch holder activate the flame, and then clear the mobs.

You will want to find a second torch holder, and then go north to the next torch that needs to be lit. Kill the adds via AOE and then light the torch. The spawns will stop, and you will want to go to the left of the torches into a big room. There will be Magmus the next boss.

Magmus

He isn’t hard, though he does have cleave, so you will want to space yourselves out behind him. The torches on the side will damage you all, so you will have to stay in the middle for the whole fight. Just heal the warrior and DD, he isn’t hard.

Keep going, and you will enter the last room. You have to clear the ENTIRE room upon entry, so pull everything except the emperor and the princess. Once you kill everything, head to the mid-center and get full health/mana.

Princess Moria and Emperor

For this pull you will want to focus on the princess first, she heals. You will want to pull them both and have the warrior focus on them both to keep aggro, but have all DD on the princess. Once she is dead you will want to dispose of the Emperor, and really the only things he does is physical attacks, a DD skill, and he will also grow large becoming invulnerable to spells and skills. Its really a matter of keeping your tank up, and just going steady until he is dead.

Once the emperor drops, congrats on beating BRD!

================================================== ======================================

A couple things to add.

Many people often do this instance for specific drops. Aka Emperor Run, Coffer Run, etc.

An Emperor Run with good group can be completed in 45 minutes with the right classes.
Requires: Priest, Warrior, Mage/Very Geared Combat Rogue (Lyceum)

Upon Entering the Instance, you open the door to the left go through there's a wandering fire elemental patrol. You can kill it or evade it. To the Right's another locked door which you go through. After that there's a third locked door to your left which is the room where you use the shadowforge key. We aren't going to do this though. Go up the stairs and clear the groups of dwarves on the left and down the hallway to the point where if you had opened the shadowforge lock you could continue. There's a window in which you can jump down and continue onto Lord Incendius. If your all level 60, and there's a patrol very close to your jump down point it is possible to jump down without agro. If you do it right, it takes a little practice. There's 4 sets of two fire elemental mobs. If your 60 you can skip three by walking straight down the middle. The last set you have to kill. Kill incendius You'll now be jumping down into the lava and make your way to the side of the wall straight ahead. You can walk along the wall all the way around the wall until you get to a point where there's a long lava hop. There is a fire elemental hidden in the lava. Pull and kill it then prepare for the long lava hop. The priest should shield each person and renew them as they hop across. If your 60 you can stand on the edge of the island without agro and without taking dmg. You can single pull the fire lords here with a little finesse and clear the island. Continue on you'll be at the black forge. There will be a 3 mob destroyer pull on the bridge that will sometimes agro people. I've not had it agro any level 60 hugging the wall after they've been distracted by a rogue in the opposite direction. Your now at the lyceum. There's two ways to do this depending on how your party is set up.

Mage - Just AoE / move fast. 10-20 second's / respawn.
/--------------------------------------------------------------
Combat Rogue /w good gear
You can solo the Fire Destroyer's guarding the candle. You'll wanna sneak around until you find the firecaller gank him grab his candle. It takes some finesse and knowing your agro range intimately even then there's some spots the guy spawns in where its impossible to pull without adds. You'll want the group loot for this room set to FFA. Gank the mob, shift right click it and if you have agro sprint / vanish. Head to the candle to the left of the door heading to magmus. If you stand between the candle and the firelord you won't get agro from the non-elites. Kill the destroyer light the flame. Redo the Fire Caller. Wait for cooldowns. The second candle you need to stand to the right of the fire lord when facing him from behind. There's a group of little guys that will agro if you don't. Other then that rinse repeat.

/---------------------------------------------------------
Once the doors are open the guys don't respawn and you can clear to Magmus. Kill Magmus, head on to emperor's room. Clear the Room, Kill the Princess, then Emp. On Avg a Hand of Justice drops every 40 runs although it does depend a lot on luck.
