Feats

The feat build if you use if you want to spell weave quite often has.. very different priorities. I'd almost call the following feats required:
Discharge Shockstrike
Bombardment
Chained Shockstrike
Pact of Dread

Feats you'll be surprised you don't want:
Overloaded Shockblast

Spell Weaving From a Distance

It's fairly obvious what to do. ALWAYS use the guaranteed crit unless you're nearly out of mana.

With this build, your second crit (I reccomend using Shock as the first spell post Hand of Doom if possible) will do from 2700-4000 damage on anyone. Soldiers take up to 6k damage if you catch them in frenzy.
Not only this, it tends to hit you're "real" target twice. The splash will hit you're primary target AS WILL you're Chained Shockstrike. The result is a secondary target(s) (say you focus a soldier with 2 or 3 melees attacking your flag carrier) can easily get killed within 5-7 seconds.
This is all using Shockstrike, which allows you to outrange a ranger.
I highly reccomend spamming stam/mana pots just b4 spell weaving just incase.


Playstyle Changes

NEVER use Shockblast. You will run out of mana, gain demons payment, and get ****d. It's almost you're entire mana pool. For similar reasons, I reccomend using chaotic blast.
DO NOT stop spell weaving midcast, you'll get stuck.
DO NOT stay in spell weaving long. If you see more than 3 spell weaving buffs you need to move along.


When they notice you

If you're focused, you better not get charged. If you are, glance for that white excellent balance buff (if its a rogue) and use wicked bolt. You SHOULD then be able to oneshot them with a shockstrike/shock. Rogues are not really a problem, if you're fast. If excellent balance is on, fiery torment and nuke them once, if they don't charge (they tend not to, because you're team would kill them otw).

After you wreck a group just once from a position, any good group will send a stealthed rogue up around to you. Lucky it isn't too hard to deal with..


Gaurdians are the problem.

A charge exploit or a charge momentum and you're already dead. Just cry yourself to sleep. Spell weaving will not help, or ironically, hurt very much. The only way to avoid this is a) not spell weave or b) use terrain to prevent charging


Ranged Situations and Spell Weaving

As for the other ranged classes, you need to get into melee range and use a cc before you spell weave. Rangers CAN be beat with spell weaving, but they can LoS you too easily. Don't try it. Run in, use wicked bolt if no excellent balance, then fiery torment. I STILL reccomend spell weaving in this 1v1 situation, if you're lucky you can get a garaunteed crit and easily kill them before the stun wears off. If not, atleast they can't knock you down.

With rangers, they should be shooting from way behind their groups, and you from behind yours. Let the melees rush them if possible.

For priests, you want to knockdown/root/spellweave (not too close if it's a PoM!) behind them. This is a joke, as long as it's not a bear shaman..
For necro's.. If you lose to a necro you suck.
