View Full Version : Need QuestHelper Replacement

I need a replacement for Quest Helper for the following reasons:

1. Due to being abandoned by it's author
2. Due to the show-stopper bug that crashes the WOW client with-in seconds of entering the world.

The above is 100% fact. #2 only happens to lv70 characters, AND only on some characters. It has only started happening after the recent WOW client patch. So please don't argue about the facts :)

Right now, I am using nQuestLog for showing and keeping track of quests in the main screen. I am using DoubleWide for a decent quest log.

Someone mentioned TomTom or LightHeaded for waypoints (aka, icons on maps for quest givers, grinding, etc), yet after research, neither of them have that ability ..

So ...

What I am looking for is an ADDON that will show quest givers/turn-ins, and where to find the quest items/grind/mobs.

Anybody have any?

Carbonite seems to be the only all-in-one solution. The newest one on here is 1.68 B87. Except for the following, it isn't too bad:

1. Missing quest list in HUD
2. Has expiration notice, meaning not cracked.
3. Most of it's options do not work.

Anybody have an update? I would register a version, but the author isnt smart enough to sell an honest product .. Aka, forcing people to "upgrade", and if your "subscription" runs out, the ADDON is disabled (aka, malware).

How about Lightheaded, heard it was good.

I've used the "full" version of Carbonite and I quickly realised that the additional "premium" features were better from other free addons (eg. crappy quest log replacement, punk tracker is near pointless). The Carbonite Quest version (free version on his site) is everything you need from it.

Personally, I use Carbonite Quest (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/11233/), QuestGuru (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/9576/) and WHDB (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/10121/). All work very well together.

Hope this is of some use.
